acchomat
I know that I want to do my essay on Napoleon Bonaparte, and how Josephine influenced/helped him, but I don't know how to make that into a question I could pitch to my History teacher. Any suggestions/advice? Reply
Hexa
To what extent were Napoleon Bonaparte's policy and actions influenced by Josephine?Would that work? Reply
acchomat
Something like that, but wouldn't it have to be more narrow? and I'm not sure if there's enough information to have an argument, even though I've been reading a lot about them... Emmi
If you're worried about it being to broad maybe you could focus on one type of policy. Social, economic, political, military, etc. Reply
Bartosz jez
Personally I don't like the topic... Her individual was insignificant to Napoleon's policy and all you can do about the topic is to guess to what extent was an action of Napoleon motivated by Josephine. Nah, change it. Arrowhead
The exact relationship between a husband and wife can only be speculated at, it will be next to impossible for you, or any historian for that matter, to gain any measure of exactness regarding the nature of their marriage and the influence of and communication in their relationship had on Napoleon's policies, whichever you decide to focus on.FInd another topic because while this would be interesting, it would be nothing more than mere speculation and based on hearsay because there are very, very few grounded facts available. Also, it's not like there are a lot of people from that time period around to interview and get their views on the matter, nor any documentaries that take into account ancillary yet important spectators to their marriage and his reign.
