krakaton
This question may come across as a tad stupid, but having noticed the fact that IB uses American English in its papers, I couldn't help but wonder if British English is acceptable. All my spellings are British and my manner of writing tends to be slightly more quaint than my American counterparts.Edit: Typo Edited April 24, 2012 by krakaton Reply
Award Winning Boss
British English is superior to American English so use it if you want. Reply
HiggsHunter
IBO documentation generally uses British English spelling for words such as "programme", "favour" and "theatre". Which exam papers used American spelling? Reply
Sandwich
You can use whichever you want, although I'd stick to either one or the other throughout just for the sake of consistency.I certainly used British English (...naturally!) without penalty. Emmi
Umm....they don't use American English. Otherwise, like HiggsHunter said, they wouldn't be spelling program "programme," color "colour," etc. But they don't penalize for using American English over British English, or vice versa. Just pick one (British or American spellings) and be consistent with it. 1 Reply
