Most of these are just recognizing the products of a reaction and then know what was in the solution for those products to be formed.Ammonia for example will always turn litmus paper blue, it's not really a specific test since the litmus paper test works for any acid/base (using the appropriate color of course).You can learn them if you want but I've never seen these in the SL or HL chem curriculum.
