Where Love Died Laughing
I'm going to study English lit, I absolutely cannot do bad on my exam tomorrow and I'm so scared that I'll miss something really obvious. Reply
Guest Tom Samson
I know me too!! Ahhh so scared. I hope I can connect with at least one text. There isn't anything worse than hating both texts! Reply
Where Love Died Laughing
Knowing my luck it will end up being some poem that even the author doesn't understand and a prose text in which nothing happens. The IB loves those. :/ Edited May 1, 2012 by Where Love Died Laughing Reply
Emmi
I'm hoping that the poem they give will be easy to comprehend. I cannot do a prose commentary, out of all the practice paper 1's I've ever done I have never understood the prose. Ever. So I know for a fact that I have to do the poem, and I'm hoping it isn't that difficult. Good luck to everyone tomorrow! Let's show the IB examiners what we're made of. EmskyBizz
To quote Leslie Nielsen from Airplane, "I just wanted to tell you, good luck. We're all counting on you." Reply
opus92fan
I sure hope I understand the passage. I find with paper 1 you either get it or you don't and if you don't get it, you're screwed, especially with the poem. I find that if I don't understand a poem within about 5-10 minutes, I will never get it without prompting. My default for paper 1 is always prose unless the poem jumps out at me right away. LoganD
Best of luck to everyone. I'm not sure if these links will be helpful to anyone, but these are the links that my teacher has provided my class with for some last minute literary review:https://docs.google....WZiMDdlYw&pli=1https://docs.google....0NWM4ZjU2NzdmZgRealize that these are AP English terms, but these are still useful tools in my opinion.
