MT SOL
How much of an overlap is there between SAT Math Level 2 topics and IB Math SL? I noticed that the Math SL test has a lot of pre-calc and the Math level 2 test is basically pre-calc, so I want to know if it is a good idea to study for the Math level 2 exam as preparation for Math SL. carpediem
I took the SAT Maths II yesterday, and it wasn't too bad. From what I've learnt from Maths SL, it's in the SAT Maths II 'syllabi' and I found it really helped me. But depending when you take your SAT Subject Tests, you might have to teach yourself some of the concepts but on the whole it's not too bad. (I even know that some of the concepts I had to learn for SAT Maths II is covered in SL, so if you do take it you would be getting ahead of your studies.) There is quite a large overlap, I think. I would say SAT Maths II is more SL level; I had some Maths HL friends who thought the test was easy, especially compared to HL. Hope I helped
hklee321
I found MathIIC much easier after taking Math SL. Although, some pre-calc stuff like conic sections and such, I kinda forgot and had to review,
