does the long term project have to last for at 18 months for 2013?

if so, is it absolutely necessary for the the long term project to be more than 18 months to get the IB diploma?

please someone help me.

If you're talking about the CAS project which everyone must complete in the IB Diploma, then no it doesn't have to cover 18 months. The CAS project is an activity you participate in that combines at least two of the three types of activities ( Creativity/ Action/ Service)

For example : Someone in my school organised an Autism walk to raise money for those who have autism, so this involved creativity organising the event, selling T-shirts, visiting the Autism centre here etc. The service was the money raised to support the centre.

This is just an example. Simpler activities are fine.

The 18 months just means that you have to participate in any normal activity throughout the 18 months, it doesn't have to be necessarily one activity. As long as you have an activity at least each month.
