marshiemellow
How do people go about answering multiple choice papers in the sciences?I am able to do longer answer questions fine but when it comes to multi choice questions I don't really know what to do [other than the obvious canceling out of the ones that it can't be].Any help is much appreciated Reply
xXRainbowDashXx
I usually read the question two times at least just to be sure I fully got all aspects of the question, then choosing the answer that is most appripriate for the questionIf you get stressed, spend some extra time reading the question, it is worth it. carpediem
Normally, I read the question a couple times to comprehend it. Then I cover the multiple-choice answers and think of my own answer to a question, and see if it matches up with the selection I'm given. This can be a useful revision technique, but sometimes in exams it doesn't work. When it doesn't work, I eliminate the completely absurd answers (admit it, there are some) and deduct it from the reduced choice, or when I really don't know (oops ) I eliminate and then randomly guess. 1 Reply

cguerin
Quickly read over them all, and answer the ones that are obvious. Do not waste over 1 minute trying to solve an impossible question! you might not get the point for that question, and you lose the opportunity to answer easier, more obvious ones Reply
khimberleigh
Underline key parts of the question such as Increase, Decrease, Not. You don't want to selected the answer that shows the decreasing (Whatever) of something when you've been asked the increasing order. Reply
Guest
1) Go through the easy ones first!2) Think about the answers in your head! If they are also one of the given answers... voilà!3) Good ol' process of elimination.4) Guessing. Reply
