Biology HL for Arts degree?

I've been told by my school that I should start considering my options to apply for the IB at my school. I want to do:

Spanish B HL

Geography HL

Biology HL

English Lit. SL

Maths Studies

History SL

For university, I would like to do an arts course. After looking at requirements and courses that I was interested in, I would love to do the BA at HKU, specialising in Geography and Hong Kong Studies (or anywhere to study geography or languages/cultures, but as far as I'm aware HKU is the only place that does hong kong studies, which is an area that I'm really interested in.) However, I'm worried that my courses aren't arts based, with a social and experimental science at HL. Should I change Biology to English or History?

I think that you could get away with this combination, but if you're looking at an arts degree maybe switching up either English or History to HL would look good. Personally, I would recommend switching English to HL and doing Biology SL. Keep Geography though, because HL socials are good for arts degrees. But mostly, do what you feel you will like - I don't think you could be disadvantaged too much for doing Biology HL instead of English or History HL.

Why don't you take an IB Art course instead of one SS course if you are going to major art in the unis?

I think you should consider taking Visual arts as a high level... otherwise HL biology should be fine

Sorry, when I say Arts I mean as arts&humanities, like literature, history, languages, geography etc., I could NEVER do Visual Arts, I'm really horrible at it :P

I have decided to change Biology HL to English because the extension at HL Biology doesn't cover anymore environmental science so it doesn't really interest me.

If I were you I'd just study what I'd want to study. You should look up if there are any prerequisites for studying HK studies at HKU in advance, and if you're really serious about applying there, even ask or call them if your course combination is OK. It looks fine to me; I mean you already have Geography at HL, and you'd already have some history background(but it doesn't look like you'll be covering much ground on HK). Perhaps you might want to consider switching that for HL.

Otherwise, if you get the word that it's fine, and you think that your courses already are easier than if you were to change them up, I won't bother.
