Lab Report Group 4 - Is a lab necessary?

Hello,

I have just finished my G4 presentation and my journal/reflection is due tomorrow.

In the Action section, it says present processed data.

But I was wondering if it's ok that a lab was NOT carried out, but pure research was carried out instead.

The reason for this being that it was difficult to find materials to do a lab in physics.

Hmmm...for a G4 project a lab is necessary. Even if it was difficult your group should have somehow found a way to find your own data instead of purely relying on research or even finding a different topic all together :/

I think you may need to talk about this with your teacher.

For my Group 4 project, we just did research on genetic engineering. My teacher only said to do research.

Well the whole point of the Group 4 project is to assess how well you can work with others. So if you are somehow able to demonstrate that without doing a lab I supposed it would be alright.

When I did it, each group had to make up their own experiment and collect their own data.

But, as Jaymi said, it is something you should discuss with your teacher as they'll be the one marking it.

In our case, the teacher said that a purely researched based project was allowed. In our school at least, we weren't required to do a lab report.
