ellielpearson
I'm in my second year of IB, and my music teacher wants us to plan our 20 minute recital over Christmas but I'm really struggling to come up with 20 minutes worth of songs. Most of my class are done with just 2 or 3 pieces on orchestral instruments, but as a singer I've got to find three times as many. So far I've got definitely: Now Sleeps the Crimson PetalSomeone to Watch Over Meand possibly:I mio babbino caroFields of GoldYe Banks and BraesBut even with all five that still only takes me to around 12 minutes, any ideas? rbsavino
I don't recognize many of the songs you've mentioned, so you might not recognize my suggestions, but I'll give them a try--GreensleevesLittle Drummer BoyO Holy NightThese are my favorite to sing during the holiday season. I have sung other great songs in choir but they contained multiple voice parts so they probably wont help...You should consider asking your music teachers from the past (voice instructors, school choir directors, etc.) to help you find some solos, they are usually too eager to help. Franz Liszt
Maybe adding some Mozartian or Wagnerian arias from their operas? Even a lieder from Schubert would be nice. Reply
