Silviana
Hmm... don't you need to write a self evaluation for EVERY cas activity you've completed? We do...Just write about what you've learnt... how you've matured in the process... who you've benefited etc etc. Reply
chileanbob
I guess...but our teacher said not to write one for every single one, but rather to do one for long ones...and I don't know what long means...so yeah=\ Reply

I've done all my hours but haven't completed the journals, etc. My school says that you can only use 20 hours of one activity for CAS. ie. if you did theatre for 150 hours you could count it as that but would have to find two other activities to make 50 hours of different things (20, 20, 10) Do you have to do this? chileanbob
our teacher says to not do all of your hours in one activity...to try to split it up into little ones....but she never gave us specific limits like 20 hours or anything. circusmind
Weird...for my IB program, we are required to reflect after we complete each activity. If you say you must reflect on "long" ones, I'm thinking maybe 10+ hours? Maybe the longer ones out of your list? Have you tried contacting your guidance counselor/IB coordinator?? They may be of more help since they should know the ins and outs of the program. They should have given you some papers...some kind of guidelines to help you out. My counselors provided worksheets/outlines to help me with my CAS activities. Reply
Rentle
Our school requires us to write self-evaluations on all of the activities we did throughout CAS. That takes lots of time and is much worse than TOK... ;]] Reply
chileanbob
I agree qwith Rentle...my selfreflection IB sheets take like 15 minutes for me to do =[ Reply
auron
Yeh, for us, we have to do a reflection thing after we complete a activity, and get the supervisor to sign it.For me, I just chuck down stuff deep and meaningful, no matter how true it is =P. "I felt that I bonded really well when I played soccer with my team, and I found that we each had our strengths and weaknesses. I realise however that by using our different strengths and weaknesses, we can make an incredible team." Just really corny stuff. The teacher is just like, "Wow. This is sooo good. <sign>".....and I'm home free!AURON Reply
cereja
use one of the not-finished ones. That way you can write about improving it and trying out different things. that'll give you something extra to write about. Reply

I personally think there's always a lot to talk about for Service. Say how you love to help people, how it was a wonderful experience... get what I'm saying? lol. good luck. moneyfaery
3 french club vicepresident 15 A hoursThat is action? How did you justify it? 'Long' should refer to time, as in number of days that the activity took. A 1 day, 8 hour session, although 'long', cannot compare to 8 hours spread out over the course of a month in terms of learning. Reply
