Hi fellow mathematicians such as myself ;)
Considering this is my first post I thought I would try and help those who needed it and help myself prepare for exams. I am still in my Math 20 course but would still like to challenge the questions you bring forth, and will not give false answers without warning if I am unsure. I am currently in Calgary taking IB courses in LBP. So I hope you give me a chance and I will try to help solve your problems =).

Leave your question and any information associated with it if in need of help. THX!
lol ok. pre-ib math question.

sin 3x= 0.345
solve for x

can u explain how u do it as well. ty
Well bescherelle this took me awhile as I had to look through my notes and think back to my first semester however this is the answer to your problem.
This is how I got my answer:

Sin 3x = 0.345 (Solving for x here makes you take the Sin -1 or inverse which you need to have learned about and take Sin from left side to right and causing the Sin-1 or inverse)
-Sin ____ Sin-1 Look Below for the format of your equation. The ______ is only a space between the two sides

3x = Sin-1 (0.345) (Inverse 0.345 and you get 20.18 roughly)

3x = 20.18 (Now simple algebra isolate x so divide 3 from both sides)
3x/3 = 20.18/3

x = 6.72 (Bravo we solved for x)

Now all we did was take the inverse because we took off Sin from one side to isolate x.
Than simple algebra to get our answer.
Now to check our answer sub in x into the original equation.
Sin 3(6.72) = 0.345.........

0.34464 or 0.345 = 0.345 roughly as we rounded off the Sin-1 up top.
Anymore questions feel free to ask ;).

*Excuse any grammar mistakes and spelling*
excellent :D lol. I understand it now. :D btw there are 2 possible values for x. this is how i would do it.

sin 3x= 0.345

let 3x= y

sin y= 0.345
y= 20.18

or

y= 159.82

sub 3x for y

3x= 20.18
x= 6.72

and

3x= 159.82
x= 53.3

thats it got it ty.
Yea sorry I didn't include as I only thought you needed one answer and yes your right :D
If you need anything else ask =P
And if you need to know why theres two answers or anything just ask.
