Uncertainty of Mercury Thermometer, Pipette, 20ml Measuring Cylinder? Help ASAP please...

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Is a 20ml measuring cylinder has an uncertainty of 0.5 mL?

Is a pipette has an uncertainty of 0.1cm3?

Is the mercury thermometer has an uncertainty of 0.5°C?

Thank You in advance!

It depends on how many divisions are on the measuring tool. Some measuring cylinders have a lot of tick marks, and others just one every milliliter, and same with the others. Can you give us a little more information? :)

Uncertainty of a 20ml measuring cylinder with a 0.5 ml tick mark away?

Uncertainty of a thermometer with 1°C tick mark away?

Uncertainty of a thermometer with 0.5°C tick mark away?

With a 1 mL or a 1 degree centigrade tick mark, the uncertainty is to the tenths place. With a 0.5 mL or degree centigrade tick mark, the uncertainty is to the hundredths place.
