kentpop
HelloI am just wondering, if I take a retake in a course where I got a 6 in May exams, and I get a 5 in the November exams, which grade will count, the highest or the lowest? 1stblondealternative
The last retake you took.Good luck! Reply
alefal
Hey there! The last retake you took.Good luck!I've heard otherwise. The highest grade is what counts, and this apply for all the IB classes as far as I know. There are already quite a few topics on retakes, and all of them seem to end with that it's the highest grade that ends up counting: http://www.ibsurviva...=+retake +grade http://www.ibsurviva...ade#entry168344 http://www.ibsurviva...ade#entry115037 Reply

Samster
The general regulations released by IB say: "Retake: for previous IB diploma candidates who are seeking to improve on their results. The highest grade obtained for a subject will contribute towards the IB diploma" Source: http://www.ibo.org/documentlibrary/regs_ibworldschools/documents/DP_regs_en.pdf I'm thinking I might have to do a retake because I don't think my marks from my November exams will be high enough to get into Melbourne Reply
IHaveNoLife
i thing the mixup is with remarking and retaking. For remark if i'm not wrong they will take the latest mark given, which may or may not be higher than your previous mark. For retake they take the higher of the 2 grades obtained Reply
ib-dying
i think you're allowed to re-sit up to three times and they take your highest markhowever, remember that everytime you sit them you're basically losing half a year, don't think melbourne is the only choice or that this is the only way to get in!
