If we manage to think of a lot (especially for question 4) we would be much better prepared for this paper, which in my opinion is kinda hard to prepare for. Here's how they structured the specimen paper:1. Defining terms2. Applying the knowledge from the case study3. Extending that knowledge a bit more4. Why?4.-Research, extremely useful if you think of a few. Some possible essay questions requiring research are needed!-How would you be able to prevent DoS attacks? What shortcomings and benefits do these have? (just a prompt, researching this would undoubtedly help for the essay though) (by David Kroell)What software, hardware, and other resources do man-in-the-middle attacks use? How are these implemented by hackers?For the research question, as we can't be certain, reading up a lot on net security and so on might help, here are a few articles and web pages I've managed to scrounge up. David Kroell Posted January 28, 2014 Report Share Posted January 28, 2014 Obviously they will ask us about defining terms.I think that one of the questions that they will undoubtedly ask us will be how to prevent certain Denial of Service attacks.Smurf attacks and such, with advanced knowledge of networking.There will also be some long-answer question I bet that will ask us to evaluate certain methods of preventing either DDoS or DoS attacks.I will be doing research and following this forum. It's been ages since someone posted so I was assuming everyone did their own thing lol. And thank you so much for that paper! My teacher put his version on as well, I've included that, if you don't mind I'll be putting those questions on the OP as an attachment. Did your teacher by chance include a markscheme? I'll look for one my teacher made, and include the other questions of our mock. Yours are a different format though from the specimen the original website for the specimens seems dead... but I was pretty sure we have a sort of essay to answer...? As in, we use all the information we gathered on the case study and write an essay on the day on some topic we don't know, using the info we gathered. And here another futile attempt: Mods, can someone PLEASE sticky this instead of the 2010 one? I have no idea who mods here, so idk who to PM. Glossary.docx We didn't get a markscheme for that paper but we DID go through it in class, sort of - 27-Jan-2014 Case Study Example Qs Worked.docx It'd be cool if you guys looked over the stuff and helped me out with anything that seems off or inaccurate thank youu!
