English help needed!: Crime and punishment

That's a really difficult question because punctuation, while a unique device to choose (and good on you for trying to be original and different!), will make for a bit of a drier read than usual. It also leaves a lot to conjecture as it's unlikely you will be able to draw many believable conclusions about the tone shifts caused by any particular punctuation, thusly affecting your ability to analyse consequent character and/or plot developments.

Have you perhaps considered abandoning punctuation as your key literary device and picking something a little easier to pin down? You can talk about the writing style's more peculiar aspects like the soap operatic tone? The darkness and seriousness of the book being underscored by some seriously slapstick comedy? Maybe even talk about dialogic narrative and its perceived effect on particular themes or ideas of your choice? There's a lot to choose from when you pick a meaty book like Crime & Punishment.
