merging
I absolutely love dystopian literature.1984 is my favourite. I am currently reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It is certainly very interesting, though some parts have mature content… Nevertheless it's great so far. Reply
MariadaPenha
For our english lit exam texts we are doing dystopias and social criticism so 1984, The Handmaids tail by Margret Atwood, and the for social criticism Morrison's Beloved and Anand's Untouchable.I enjoy dystopian literature and am looking forward to reading Fahrenheit 451 and Brave New World. Trilogies like Uglies, The Hunger Games and Divergent are also nice for some lighter reading. Reply
Ann Vyshinsky
I love "1984"! And "Animal farm", although I don't know whether it is dystopia or not, but it was mentioned in this thread, so... in any case, I love its historical (at that time, current political) references. yucia
Big fan of 1984. Studied The Handmaid's Tale in class but the narration style is confusing. Studied Fahrenheit 451 as well but I think the ending is a bit unrealistic and lacking. Also, after watching the TERRIBLE film adaption, I just can't like the novel anymore. I'm thinking of reading Brave New World. Another popular dystopia novel is Lord of the Flies. How is it? Reply
El :3
I really enjoyed the Obernewtyn books by Isobelle Carmody - they're set in a post-apocalyptic world, and they have rejected technology for fear of creating another nuclear war. Lynxarin
I have read 1984, Handmaid's tale, and Lord of The Flies and I liked them. But my absolute favourite of dystopian literature is The Road, written by Cormac McCarthy. It is really well-written and I read it non-stop during a rainy day 1 Reply
