Lisa Azzopardi
Hi,My friend and I are both doing EE in Psychology, could you comment on our EE topic. What is emotional intelligence and how does it relate to personality and life satisfaction? My main interest is Emotional Intelligence and how it can be applied to our day-to-day interactions. Having already read most of Daniel Goleman's books i thought it would be interesting to begin with an overview of EI, then compare different models of EI, to move on to discussing EI in terms of Personality and EI in terms of Life Satisfaction. My friend's is: To what extent does CBT help remediate stress/anxiety? Any advice is welcome. Thanks Reply
blindpet
Do you have scientific papers or empirical evidence for emotional intelligence and life satisfaction and personality? My concern is that terms like life satisfaction (unless you are thinking of the simple happiness scales and how they relate to emotional intelligence scales) and personality are quite vague, but if you have papers that investigate these specific topics (and don't just throw out theory and hypotheses without data), it sounds like a cool topic. You should be able to evaluate by mentioning things like empathy, oxytocin, culture (collectivist vs individualist). CBT and anxiety disorders or ptsd is a good idea, should be lots of data and papers on those topics. Plenty of room for evaluation as well since there are many other methods than cbt for treating both those disorders. Reply
Lisa Azzopardi
Hi, Thanks for reply. We've decided to go with To what extent can emotional intelligence be measured and can it predict life skills? With research papers to support the argument. Thanks for your help, much appreciated Reply
