Even though I have about 2 years to write my Extended Essay, I'm already thinking about it (because what holidays are for if not to give us more time to think about school). I consider writing about the use of the "damsel in distress" trope in literature. Now, I need books that really match... I thought about "Jane Eyre" - my research question would be something like "Does "Jane Eyre" follow or break the "damsel in distress" trope?". But I'm afraid it isn't an imaginative topic for a EE on "Jane Eyre"; it's only paraphrazed a bit. What do you think? Do you know any appropriate novel?
