Astrophysics EE

Hello all. I was just wondering if anyone could propose an idea for an experiment based astronomy/astrophysics EE? I'm wanting to do something regarding the observation of some sort of astronomical object/s and I don't want to just use databases as sources.

I've been considering things like quasar detection and the eclipsing period of binary stars, but they both seem more complicated and difficult than necessary. My school has a fairly high-end reflector telescope, and I am allowed to use that to assist me.

I just need some suggestions. Thank you in advance, all contributions are appreciated. :)
