IBs_a_lot
Hi so I'm currently a Junior IB Diploma student and was just wondering whether or not attending chess tournaments would count towards my Action section for CAS. If not, why not? If you believe it goes can you please explain why? Edited October 17, 2014 by IBs_a_lot Reply
Guest Sonia
Action needs to be something physical. I know chess is considered a sport, but for IB Action the argument 'Chess trains my brain' is not very valid I assume you could do that as Creativity though? Anyways, so for Action it has to be basketball or tennis or dance etc. Something that actually trains your body. And since the proposal should have a tangible aim, I think it'd be harder to make one for chess. While for soccer or sth your aim could easily be 'score 8/10 goals by the time the season is done'. IBProcrastinator
I would say talk to your CAS coordinator to check under which category this would be considered. Reply
