jibberish45
I am working on ToK presentation that uses Ethics as a gateway to other aoks. However, I am unsure exactly what ethics represents, which is a large issue considering that it is the base of my presentation. Even after reading multiple IB documents, I have found it difficult to find ethics to be anything more than a noun, as it is a circumstance for knowledge to be produced (like a filter), but I cannot see how it results in knowledge in itself. I am looking for advice on how to address how ethics-based knowledge interconnects different indigenous knowledge systems. Thanks in advance, and hope to hear from people soon. Esteban
Ethics is a very hard AOK to define. Basically, Ethics deals with the reasoning behind why a "moral agent" (person making a moral choice) behaves how they do/did. The focus of ethics is to develop a code of morals. Example ethics situations Should I do homework or play a game? Should I help this person even though they are not my friend? Is it moral to kill for money? Etc. EtcAn ethical situation frequently uses the word "should" PM me for further clarification --Esteban Reply
