suffocatingsilence
Hey guys... So, i have to pick a research question for my IA, and I couldn't really think of anything. My bio teacher wants the entire class to each come up with "original" research questions, and I'm struggling, because it's so hard to think of anything that I can do in a practical that hasn't been done a thousand times.I'm really interested in genetics, but I couldn't think of anything that I would be able to investigate. Do you think it would be okay to use the golden ratio to measure and compare people's faces and their parents faces, etc...? I was originally thinking of doing the typical "fruit fly" experiment, but it might be a bit difficult to find fruit flies where I live, and also, the fact that it's so overdone sort of put me off. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for reading this post. Please reply Reply
Noticeably Absent
I haven't had genetics yet, but what about something with DNA-profiling? Phenotype and genotype? Reply
Rapunzel
Honestly, I don't really think that doing an IA on genetics is a very good idea because there isn't much that you can do... How about considering other topics? Enzyme reactions and topics that are more familiar and feasible? Wishing you all the best! Reply
A_Happy_Monkey
How about discussing the ethical implications of genetic engineering? With a greater focus on the scientific element, of course. Reply
