dyingstudent1998
So for my History IA I'm doing it on Stalin's personality cult. Does the question "To what extent was Stalin's personality cult real or manufactured" sound good? Does it encompass too many topics or too broad a time period?? Thanks so much. susanne
Broad. Very very broad. I have never looked at Russian history, but 1). personality cult is sort of hard to define/pin-point enough; also personality cult tends to change over time (not sure what the case with Stalin is)2). 'manufactured' and 'real' have very very blurred lines in between. Just think of it as gossips, I state an obvious fact, and then someone exaggerate it slightly. Is the final statement a 'manufactured' one, or a 'real' one? I personally think the case with any personality cult is that it is a mixture of both; but you are sort of trying to sort of something a bit more definitive here. (Although that would be very good discussion)3). You would have WAY too much sources, which could make this more EE-worthy than IA-worthy final question, how do you prove if something is 'real' Reply
