What units do I use in pV=nRT?

Recommended Posts

Hello, what are the units that I need to use in the ideal gas equation formula?

Thanks in advance! And good luck to all the people studying for the May exams. Only a couple days left :)

P = torr, psi, mm Hg, psi, atm, kPa

T = K, degrees C

V = dm^3, L

R = kPa*L/mol*K (or any of the other pressure and temperature units. Your choice of units for pressure and temperature will depend on the units shown for the value R)

n = mole (mol)

I believe this is what you were asking?

Pressure - Pascals

Volume - cubic meters (and no cubic centimeters etc, it must be meters)

Number of moles - moles lol

Temperature - Kelvins

Gas constant - Pa*L/mol*K
