danajungy Posted May 12, 2015 Report Share Posted May 12, 2015 Hello, I am currently just over half way through my chemistry IA (HL), we only have a few lessons left and the experiments are going really badly! I am synthesizing biodiesel from different types of oils and so far they have all turned solid! I think the problem is that I'm using ethanol instead of methanol as the teachers thought this would be safer and still work however I still have to burn them though to do the second half of my experiment so it is too late to try a different method.
