Extended essay ideas

You can always talk about causes and affects. Someone in our school discussed the way that people viewed the Holocaust. His research question was somewhere along the lines of "how and why did the German people's view of the Holocaust change between 1942 and 1945?"

It depends on the aspect(s) of the Holocaust you are interested in! You could talk about the causes/effects, like Schroedinger's CAS said; you could talk about which "weapon" played the biggest role, you could talk about the dispersion of the Jews and the effect of that...the possibilities are endless!!

Before picking your topic and solidifying it, I'd definitely narrow it down more to one aspect, since the Holocaust was a large point in history.

I did my EE in History as well, and from experience, you need to narrow it down to the point where you can elaborate on it more than your IA, but not over 4,000 words - this is a very very thin line. My EE was on whether the Russian Revolution or the Finnish Civil War played a larger role in Finnish independence.

If you need help, PM me. I'd advise taking a trip to a local college library and compressing your ideas!
