dlgjsrb21
I was going to do the CAS project by joining a project conducted by an organization called 'Project Abroad' which is non governmental/political organization. The duration for this project will be exactly two weeks, and it's going to be carried out in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This project targets children in Phnom Penh, so we will be building playground, caring children and do gardening. However, I have to pay for insurance, food and accommodation. Does this project fulfill the requirements as a CAS project? Another question is that I am learning Kendo (Activity) at the moment. Would continuing Kendo in be a CAS Project as well? Thank you guys in advance
lonesoldier
It should count as a CAS project because you would be covering two out of the three criteria- service and action. I don't think it matters that you have to pay for insurance and accommodation because you're still providing a service. It's like paying to join a soccer club and then using that as CAS action. If you're not too sure though you can always just run it by your IB coordinator

weepingwillow
Hey, I was going to do something quite similar to this for mine and my coordinator said trips like this do not count as CAS let alone a project since you do not plan/initiate the activity. Real bummer but that's what she said...
