It sounds reasonable to me - you might be able to take things a bit further by considering the calculus of the normal distribution in some manner. (Perhaps you can approximate the normal cumulative distribution function with a Taylor/Maclaurin Series? I've not looked into it but I think it should be possible. The maths involved won't be all that difficult, but it will impress the markers - if you want any further detail let me know).

 

How are you going to apply this though? Remember that personal engagement comprises a substantial portion of marks - so it needs to be related to a topic of interest outside of mathematics ideally. Statistical modelling is pretty broadly applicable, so I doubt you'll have trouble here - what are you passionate about? Whatever it is, mathematize it.
