is Math Hl required for Enginnering?

hi,
i want to pursue mining enggineeering after the completion of my ib in one of the following canadian universities..UBC,mc Giils and UOT.. i was just wondering if a standard level in math would do, or if only students doing math hl can get admitted...

It's not necessary, but preferred.

I have friends that went to U of T for engineering science, and Waterloo for chemical engineering. All of them took maths SL and physics SL (our school doesn't offer those subjects at HL) and they all got in, with scholarships.

Maybe the college considered the fact that your school doesn't offer Math and Physics at HL and accepted them. If your school offers the two subjects at HL definitely take them.

I doubt it. It's different because I'm from Ontario, and as Ontario high school applicants, the universities don't even look at your IB grades unless you specifically request it. Everyone was accepted based on their high school marks. However, I'm sure that the process is different for international students.

Well I heard that Math Methods can be used, and I guess it is better than Math SL. I'm not quite sure though. So Just make sure. And I suggest what anonymouser said.
