Anahi
US universities don´t look at IB scores. You should tell us your GPA, how good were your recommendations letters and if you feel that your essay was good enough Reply
IB Lyferr
@Anahi they do if i'm an international student, because i do not have a gpa. Thus they have to, but it would sorta translate to 3.8ish but it would be taking 3 classes harder than AP classes Reply
ellie
NYU is one of the few that accepts IB scores (no matter where you're from), actually. 1 Reply
IB Lyferr
So does anyone know if i got a chance? Reply
kevG
NYU does indeed accept predicted IB scores, and yes you have a good chance but remember that you also need to have good extra curricular and top notch essay as the US looks at your application "holistically", so everything counts. IB Lyferr
Sports wise i did Football (for basically my entire life) and Swimming (2 years). Scholastically, i was in my schools debate team for two years and took part int he European Youth Parliament which is quite prestigious. veregudmen
Well I know people who have gotten in with much worse; just last year a guy from my school got into Stern with the same predicted grade (on 42), 1710 in the SAT. NYU CAS isn't impossible, provided you aren't applying for aid and don't have any major problems in your app (discipline, very low semester grades, screwups in exams etc). In any case NYU is test-optional so your SAT score shouldn't bring you down much. If your essays are good you /should/ be through, although with the States you can never really predict with absolute accuracy. Also yeah, they will look mainly at predicted grades and consistency with your school grades and not GPA since you can't really have a GPA with the IB.
