slft
For the Maths Portfolio, do we need to include introduction? Reply
__inthemaking
Depends if you're in SL, HL or Math Studies. I did Maths SL and I didn't have to write an intro. But I hear that you do need one for Studies. Reply
Cutetare
Except on Studies, you don't necessarily NEED an intro, but it'll never take point away to write one, even if it is rather short... Reply
eskimotaro
It's useful to write one anyway. Gives the reader a clear direction of what you are goin to do. Reply
monica
Our teacher keeps telling us that the reader of our essay should know what we're talking about without looking at the question page. I really liked her advice. So that pretty much requires an introduction, even if it's a short one.Just stating what you have to investigate/prove and how you're gonna do it. It could be helpful writing it in the end, when you already know what you did, maybe you can't always anticipate. Reply
babakren
maths IA isn't an essay, even i write in bullet points and still get very high marks. I dont think any introduction is needed because they already know what we're doing because there's already the guiding questions n stuff. But its not incorrect to write an introduction. good luck =] Reply
