Sandwich
I keep skipping over this post, but after misreading this for the thousandth time feel I ought to mention that every time I see it, I misread the title as "Does torturing classmates count as service?" Speaking of which I think tutoring must be an american thing. We don't have it here :[Would be nice easy CAS hours!
herong2x
it is definitely service for you.in our school, we have peer tutorials where the tutors get service and the tutees get knowledge our IBC suggested that so i dont see any problem in peer tutorials. try to ask your IBC
rrswong
In our school, it does count as service.. I think sometimes the tutees can claim it for creativity or something - that's if you tutor in music or something like that.
Amber
It is kinda weird that it is not allowed. Maybe there are other reasons behind it like your coordinater doesn't think it will be "real" with a friend. Maybe you can prove it to him/her? Summer Glau
I can sorta see why your coordinator doesn't like the idea, because there are people who'll fake their hours by doing this. However, if you get supervision from an adult (maybe a teacher?), then it shouldn't be a problem (imo).
Survival Robot
This topic has been closed by a moderator.Reason: OP's question is 1.5 years old. Seems to be an agreement that it depends on your CAS Coordinator. If you disagree with this action, please report this post, and a moderator or administrator will reconsider it.Kind regards,IB Survival Staff
