What does "Standard English" mean in general in university applications?

Recommended Posts

I am confused of how so many universities wrote the English language requirements for International Baccalaureate

as "5+ in standard English" and didn't imply whether it is English A or B. I am currently taking B standard because I couldn't take B higher as all of my higher classes are occupied, but I think I can get around 100 in the IBT TOEFL test. Is it okay if I submit the results of either the TOEFL test or the IELTS test if don't reach the IB English requirements?

They look for 85-87 maybe 90 in the TOEFL internet-based score, (maximum score is 120).

I took the TOEFL just if I need it, I am not sure if the universities that I´ll apply for asks for them.

I think that you should take the test just if you need the scores. Maybe you won´t be able to apply with your IB scores
