inshm2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Report Share Posted April 20, 2016 Hi, I am little confused about the topic of recombinations. Does it only occur between linked genes? If so, does that mean that recombinants can only form between crosses of linked genes? This is what I believed but then I saw a couple of videos that confused me. For example, if we have PpGg crossing with ppgg (unlinked genes) PG Pg pG pg pg PpGg Ppgg ppGg ppgg According to the videos I have seen, Ppgg and ppGg are recombinants since none of the parents have these genotypes.
