Viven Iyer
I have thought of finding the light attenuation coefficient of cloudy water for different wavelengths of light. What I plan to do is, use a light sensor to detect the emergent intensity. using the beer lambert law the coefficient can be found. Is this a topic good enough for an extended essay? There are other factors such as using other liquids or using different path lengths. Or should I look for another topic? Reply
bynary
I would recommend you have a theoretically continuous independent variable. i.e. you don't change the liquid type but rather concentration or something applicable to your set up. From a brief search, it looks like a good topic just be 100% sure of your method and what is happening in the experiment so that your analysis will be spot on Reply
