chiranthabusch
I'm resitting math for the first time. If I get a lower mark this time and my old results, which mark will I get on my certificate? Could you maybe link me to any source from IB regarding this , if you have the time? Thank you in advance. Reply
ChocolateDrop
Your higher grade is kept for retakes. I don't have an IB link to support this, but I've spoken to some IB coordinators who have witnessed this. This is provided that you sit the same level of the exam. That is, for example if you wrore Math SL the first time around, you write Math SL for your retake instead of changing to Math HL or studies for the retake. 1 Reply
kw0573
Source (IB official document): Handbook of Procedures 2016 Quote Where a grade from a previous examination session appears, although the subject has been retaken, this indicates that the retake has not resulted in an improved grade. (If a diploma candidate retakes a subject/level, the highest grade will contribute to the diploma.) Reply
