Nellef
Hello all, I'm trying to pick a good article for my practice IA and ... 1) Does the article have to be a piece of actual, this-has-just happened news? 2) Does the article itself have to be really about economics, or can I choose an article regarding the growth of an industry (w/o econ terms, just general stuff) and manage to derive economic meaning from it? Please help... Thank you! Reply
MINDPADS
Getting Started with IB ECONOMICS Commentaries: Choose articles NOT earlier than 6 Months from your current academic year. · The Internal assessment has a portfolio of 3 commentaries of 750 words each, taken from 3 different sources focusing on different sections from the syllabus, namely Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics and Development Economics. · The marks are systematically allotted to definitions of the economic terms, concepts, theories, diagrams and evaluation. · For an easy understanding of what IB wants, please take a look at any sample question from paper 2 from the IB Economics Finals. The question has a small case study followed by 4 questions asking for 2 definitions (Q1 part a and b), 2 conceptual /theoretical extracts (Q2, 3) and the last and the most important question (Q4) focusing on the Evaluation. · Your choice of article and content of the commentary should include the similar requirements covering the answers to these 4 questions and you are all set for your Economics Internals Assessments. Please see articles with discussion , topic links and evaluation points for Commentaries. http://mindpads.org/ib-economics-ia-commentaries-micro-macro-international-and-development-economics-articles-with-topics-and-evaluation-2016-17/ · The economic concepts and definitions are highlighted for you to develop the commentary from the syllabus. You can follow the same theme and search for articles for writing a good commentary. · All the Very Best! Mindpads.org Reply
