ichimo
So I was planning on going to Art Hl, since I like analysing art but I am not really that good at drawing and painting. I can draw what I see but not so much when I imagine things. Basically I want to know what kind of requirements are needed to do Art Hl? Like do you need to be naturally good at drawing for the course and so on? Reply
Neko Pussycat-Sama
For Art HL, it's true that analysis and artist statements are very important and with those you can get a pretty good grade. However you also need to enjoy making art- not just analysing it. As for being naturally good, you don't really need to be, because everything improves over practice and art is subjective! As you prepare for your exhibition you experiment with media and try to find a topic- or a meaning, to put to your pieces. You need to make things that are meaningful, and how you do it is entirely up to you. Heck you can make collages and draw stick figures, slap an artist statement with a link to other artists and bam, 7s rain from the sky (ok maybe not like that) Sorry if that was confusing Reply
