beccilini
At least in my school it is not considered as creativity.. I'm waiting to take my license until after IB.
moneyfaery
Hi,i juss wanna ask if u get creativity hours for taking driving lessons.Thank YouIt wouldn't be here. C = dancing, singing, arts, etc. If you can convince your IBC it's creativity then go for it.
Sandwich
We get to count it as creativity. Learning a new skill and all that :]
sheepdog9
I don't think that it's seen as creativity, unless you would have developed the lesson plans yourself.it can been seen as service if you are the one teaching but otherwise i think you should look for something else, like dance, Vis. arts or Per. arts, even something like learning in instrument would be a good idea for creativity.Hope this helps
IBdoc
Our school used to count it as creativity, but the students started abusing it and using it as their only creativity hours source so they stopped it. Same thing with wroking out in the gym and Action hours.
stariixniite
my cas coordinator wouldn't let us count it towards our cas hours. too bad.
vixenvin
well, i think it all depends on ur cas coordinator.mine really wouldnt care, but i wasnt too desperate for hours.im sure if i asked, and if u make it sound legitimate on your form, you could use your hours. lindieeluieee
No, it's personal gain. Can't count torwards CAS at all. At least not in my school.
avrila
I don't think so. If so, it wouldn't be fair for those who cant afford to have driving lesson to get CAS hour. Well, you can get at least more than 10 hours for the driving test. How about teaching people driving?
pavlov
I wanted to use mine too, but our school didn't let us.
tinkerbell18
I am pretty sure it doesnt count at my school, but probably its different on everyschool ;-)
Vvi
I tried to get it, since I had to take about 35 lessons altogether. I failed my first practical test. But our CAS coordinator said no, unless afterwards I could prove that I was using my skills to drive old people around or something that wasn't for "personal gain". Which I do now, seeing as my sister calls me all the time and asks me to be her driver. My parents do the same. You could try using that as your excuse for including it as CAS. KiwiFruit
At our school you get 15hours of service...it looks like by having driving things your less likely to crash...hence a service to the other road drivers.DrewRow
mersad
Hi,i juss wanna ask if u get creativity hours for taking driving lessons.Thank Youhey, im sorry but driving lesson do not count as you are benefitting yourself and CAS is all about learning new things and things that have social factors and stuff you do to the society
laneolaneo1
I counted doing a 'Pass Plus' scheme as Action, and this was allowed as there was no 'reward', per se. Driving lessons themselves didn't count as these had a personal gain attatched.
KLSmash
I'm fairly sure my CAS co-ordinator would allow it as long as we wrote a proper goal (getting driver license) and had someone supervising us (instructor). I've never heard that you things with personal gain don't count for CAS hours such as training for an athletic event.
biochem
Thank you for the idea... I need to start thinking outside the box on these cas activities. Expand my horizon, because I have strictly been stuck in a volunteer facility type of experience. and I think it is totally allowed. My friends are signing up for it, and getting it all approved. Just don't let it get abused, like some schools here have stated. Same thing at my school. Certain activities are just off-limits because we have exploited them to the fullest. LinuxBeta
Using the right justification, you cold pull it off as Action =P Probabily not creative though...I see no creativity involved in driving.
JMR
From what I have heard, driving lessons on their own are not sufficient enough for CAS.. this is what IBO has said.
