IB Math Helper
Yes, this is related to physics for sure. First of all, do you have some equipment to gather data? For example, like a stop-motion camera or a GoPro to record movies in slow motion? This is important to get some measurements. There are lots of ideas you can focus on: 1) Measuring the impact (momentum) when a bat hits a ball and estimating how high or far it will go. 2) Using quadratics to measure the optimum angle to hit a ball with a given speed so that it travels the farthest without getting caught. 3) Some type of probability scenario (this is non-physics related) where the bases are loads the probability of score "x" runs if the batter bunts the ball. I don't know much about baseball and came up with those three. I would suggest brainstorming on your own since you know things best. I also suggest narrowing your focus. That is, focus on the batter or the pitcher but not both. If you start considering too many things, your IA will end up convoluted. Best of effort on this.
