Good topic and it seems like you have a good handle on it. I would recommend the red bird and figure out the system of equations that you were talking about. I've done this myself and there's something interesting about the angle (relatively speaking) from which the red bird is released from the sling shot and the target area it lands. I would just take a screenshot of you shooting the birds. You don't need an actual sling shot (unless you really want to discuss the math and physics behind that).
