100kr
My school keeps telling us that we need to complete at least 150 hours of CAS (at least 50 hours for each area) in order to fulfill the CAS requirement or else we won't receive the IB diploma. However, I have recently discovered that the IBO removed that requirement back in 2009-2010. Can anybody verify this for me? Reply
Bart van Driel
IB has changed the requirements but these are just a base line for schools to follow, they can still have their own requirements, for example in my school I have do do 3 activities per semester and I have three semesters, but we dont have to do the 18 month project or record the hours. but I am going to some ****ty backstreet IB school that recently became an IB school and doesnt know all the requirements exactly. kw0573
You can read the CAS guide that is up-to-date as of 2017. You can see that the new requirement probably also takes 150 hours over the course of at least 18 months, without explicitly stating so.
