Akash Mattupalli
Hey there, So I am doing Maths HL and lets just say it has been an exciting and hard journey. The time has come to think of our IAs before officially starting it and I feel more inclined towards Geometry. I was reading 17 Equations that changed the world for some inspiration and I thought of the Torus and how interesting it is. I thought of two questions based on the Torus - 1. Is our Universe in the shape of a Torus? 2. What is the Gaussian Curvature of a Torus? Please post your opinions on those and feel free to suggest any other questions! SC2Player
Both questions are pretty good starting points for an IA. For the second one, if you find yourself needing an extension, maybe you could look at the Gaussian curvature for the general n-hole torus. This is overall related to the subject of topology, so it may be a good idea to have a few links back there in your reflection. 1 Reply
