th3feds
I was thinking of making a series of videos to post on Youtube that would teach players how to play top lane in League of Legends. However, today I was telling my friends this idea, and they didn't believe it would be a service. I'm going to ask my CAS supervisor Monday (he is away today) and was just wondering if it would count as a service. I know it would be creative but I don't really need more creative activities and need more services.\ Thank you Reply
Nick T
The IB is fairly strict in what they define as a service, particularly being that it must benefit a person or group of people in need. I don't think your average pile of salt *cough* sorry meant League player would fit in this category. Reply
sodonewithib
Hiya! I know the struggle of trying to find a unique CAS activity. As much as I'd love playing video games to count for CAS, I highly doubt they'll allow you to. Reply
SC2Player
I'd like to mention this website, which according to my coordinator is OK: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=cms.page&id=1197. I'm going to see if I develop an appropriate structure to actually formulate a CAS project off this, but I'm not too sure where exactly would I find a supervisor. If you can't find a supervisor, just go and ask your CAS teacher. I've had mine supervise a couple of my activities as they were very individual activities and couldn't find anyone else to do it. 1 Reply
S.S Louise
On it's own I'm 90% sure you'd be able to get it to count for creativity, but I don't think it would count for service. If you do manage to tie it to Extra Life you should be able to get it to count tho. 1 Reply
