IJustWanaPass
Hi All, I'm in IB1 right now and would like to start working on my IA. I have come up with a topic but I'm not sure if it sounds interesting or if it can get me a high mark. The research question is Determining the effect of changes in concentration of orange juices on rate of reaction. I will use different plastic orange juice boxes and place them into different temperatures (Frozen, room temp, outside etc.) and measure the concentration before I put them in their allocated temperatures. Each 24H I will take them out and measure the concentration then calculate rate of reaction. Reply
SC2Player
Topic may be a bit too elementary - if you do the experiment well and provide good analysis/evaluation you can do it though. Not too sure about putting them in different temperatures, as you generally want to manipulate only one variable and keep others constant while doing an experiment. Also depends on what reaction you're doing - could be worthwhile to look at reactions where concentration of orange juice doesn't affect rate too (at least in theory). IJustWanaPass
I assume measuring pH of orange juices under different temperatures and explain why pH changed wouldn't be a good experiment. So should I mix them with different chemicals of the same volume and see what changes. Reply
