For my extended essay I originally wanted too choose Quantum mechanics but I was adviced agaisnt this. The topic I am now considering is the effect of the curve and the length of a curve on the time taken for a ball to get from one position to another. This has already been solved and is known as a Brachistochrone. is this still a valid topic for my extended essay? If not does anyone have any other better recomendations for me?

Is this more related too maths?

Thanks

Both topics are more math involved and are difficult to design experiments. It is generally assumed that whatever you choose for your EE has been previously discovered. The EE should be a topic that you can experimentally take lots of data using the materials available at your school or home.
