Algebra quick help

Part a)

Let the sum of the first terms be Sn, so Sn = (3n2 + 5n)/2.

The nth term of a sequence is Sn - Sn-1 (can you figure out why?).   Simplify the expression to obtain the nth term.  

I'm assuming that you can figure out part b) after you figure out part a), as it just relies on the definition of what is an arithmetic sequence.
