xfewds
My question for my IA is: How may acid dissociation constant of weak acids affect molar enthalpy of neutralization? How can i measure it? What materials do you think I need? Reply
mac117
Since it's your IA we cannot really do the work here for you. All we can do is help you develop on the ideas and suggestions you give us in order to push you into the right direction rather than just give you the answer What ideas do you have on your mind? xfewds
@mac117 the problem is i dont even know realyl where to start or how I would do my experiment. I wasnt asking for people to do my work, I was asking for something to give me a starting point Reply
kw0573
You should start by looking for justifications that you can find in a textbook or come up on your own to justify this topic / provide theory. I believe pKa is typically calculated using Henderson-Hasselbalch equation at the half-equivalent point. You should look for similar labs for ideas for materials. Because of the equipment, calculating enthalpy in a high school lab typically leads to large uncertainties or systematic errors so keep that in mind.
