eugenegotnicegenes
Hello fellow IB survivors! I just finished my first year of IB, and I want to start with my biology IA. I want to do a genetics based one, and was wondering if I could investigate MBTI Test (16 personalities) results of both sides of my parents' family, and evaluate if there is a personality traits pattern. My research question would be: "to what extent are personality traits inherited?" (or somewhere along that line) I will also discuss how personality is created both genetically and environmentally (nature vs nurture), I think this would be quite interesting. Do you think this is a good idea? Reply
eri.tse
I personally think that that's really interesting! Has your teacher said anything about it? Reply
reeyah
I really like the topic, but from what I've read the MBTI test isn't very reputable, here's a video on it. If you study and learn about the cognitive functions and THEN get your family members personality type, I think you'd be able to do it. You have to be careful about making this strictly about biology, though since it's very easy to mix it up with psychology. Reply
